The Space Within
The Space Within is a piece for spacialised chamber orchestra with all the material deriving from serial techniques to create a short melody which is then ornamented and broken up through different members of the orchestra.
PrevalenceThe name, Prevalence, as with many of the names I give to my pieces describes something about them. In this case the name comes from the prevalence of one note within the piece which everything seems to gravitate towards. Chords were constructed to gravitate toward this note while runs where used for the same reason. These runs were varied and then gradually brought back to their original form to create a sense of returning home before the piece ends in similar way that it begun.
